Let’s taco-bout Emerald's kindy fiesta

IT IS time to don a moustache and a sombrero, with the Emerald Community Kindergarten's Mexican Fiesta ready to rock your socks off.

Emerald Community Kindergarten president Katie Ritson said everyone could expect a fantastic night of Mexican goodness.

"Saturday, October 31, is set for Emerald Community Kindergarten's Mexican Fiesta," Katie said.

"A night just for the adults to get into some chippin', dippin', margarita sippin' fun to celebrate Day of the Dead - the national fiesta day in Mexico that coincides with Halloween.

"The kindy's fiesta kicks off at 5pm on Emerald's original cemetery, which is now known as Lions Park - behind the kindy - and will go into the night."

Katie said the preparation for the event was well under way, with a margarita bar the first step to Mexican greatness.

"The committee is planning a fun night under the stars, sipping a few drinks and eating loads of Mexican food from the quirky food van," she said.

"The margarita bar will run all night and Sophie Phillis is busy creating us a Mexican-party style music playlist to set the mood."

Food is, of course, going to be all themed and promises to be delicious.

"We have adult piñata games, a limbo competition and one long communal table for all the amigos to sit around and relax at," Katie said.

"Our Mexican menu for the night includes pulled pork tacos, bean dips, nachos and, of course, margaritas.

"We also have a raffle and lucky gate prize on the night," Katie said.

"We would love to see as many people as possible get behind the fiesta, grab a pen, draw on a moustache and get set to enjoy it Mexican style with Emerald Kindy."

For catering purposes tickets must be pre-purchased from the kindy or Stiletoes.

Tickets are $25 each and include entry, a drink on arrival and a taco.
