Local star Kenny dominates the arena at the Emerald rodeo
CENTRAL Highlands' hometown hero and cowboy star Shane Kenny dominated the Australian Professional Rodeo Association event and won the rope and tie event to further his lead on the APRA standings.
Shane said it was a pretty good night and there were no riders or stock hurt.
"I won the rope and tie, my time was 8.8 seconds," Shane said.
"The record is 7.2 seconds but most rodeos are won at around 9 or 10 seconds so it was an above-average time."
Shane has dominated the circuit for many years but casually reflects that "we just do what we have to do".
Shane's brother Kacey won the steer wrestling and Dysart bull rider Sonny Schafferius won the Emerald open at last weekend's rodeo.
The team roping was taken out by two Emerald riders Clancy Middleton and Brody Moss which now makes them favourites for the Warwick rodeo from October 24 - 27..
