LIFE is finally returning to Grand Central, with massive crowds yesterday packing out the shopping centre and lining up outside department stores.

After social distancing and industry shutdowns due to the coronavirus scared shoppers away from the centre, the bounce has clearly returned to retail stores in recent weeks.

One shopper noted the long lines outside stores like K-Mart, comparing the amount of people to the Christmas shopping period.

It comes as COVID-19 restrictions continue to relax across the country, although rules are still in place around social distancing and other measures.
