GYMPIE's newest Senior Citizen of the Year Reg Tame is volunteering his time this week to keep dust at bay at the Optus Music Muster.

Reg was named as the region's favourite senior citizen recently, after being nominated for volunteer work in Goomboorian. “I just like to help people,” he said.

Starting yesterday, he will get up at 6am and start dust proofing roads at the Amamoor Muster site until campers pack up on Sunday.

Reg isn't retired; he manages to run his own engineering business when he isn't too busy volunteering.
