A TOOWOOMBA man on bail for more than 30 charges including an alleged home invasion will see in the New Year from a remand centre cell after being returned to custody.

Keppler Dennis Hood, 30, was arrested by police on patrol in Curzon St, East Toowoomba, about 6pm Saturday after the car he was a passenger in was pulled over.

Police claim the driver of the black Holden utility was unlicensed while Hood was allegedly found with a knife and was suspected in the break-in of a home nearby.

Hood was taken into custody and appeared before Toowoomba Magistrates Court yesterday on charges of entering a dwelling with intent and unlawfully possessing a knife.

He was not required to enter any pleas to the charges and he made no application for bail.

He was remanded in custody to appear back in the same court on January 16 when other unrelated charges are due for mention.
