Man airlifted after crashing motorbike into ditch

A MOTORBIKE rider who crashed three metres down an embankment near Kenilworth on Sunday was airlifted to hospital.

The 59-year-old man received multiple trauma-related injuries.

The Brisbane resident was enjoying a recreational motorcycle ride along Maleny-Kenilworth Road when he lost control of the vehicle through a tight section of the roadway.

It's understood the vehicle left the road and travelled around three meters down an embankment, causing the rider to suffer multiple trauma related injuries.

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to assist the man at around 12.15pm.

Once on scene, the CareFlight clinical crew treated the man for his injuries.

He was then airlifted to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition.
