Man airlifted to hospital after falling from tree

THE Toowoomba based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man from Sundown National Park after he injured himself in a fall.

The rescue helicopter was called to the national park south west of Stanthorpe about 10am today.

It is believed the 43-year-old man from Brisbane fell from a tree overnight and sustained a broken collar bone and minor neck injuries.

Due to the remote campsite where he was, it was decided that the most effective and quickest way to get him to hospital was by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter.

The rescue helicopter's medical team assisted the local Queensland Ambulance Service in treating the man for his injuries and he was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
