Man charged over alleged bashings

A MAN who allegedly bashed a 31-year-old man so badly that he required facial surgery has been charged by police.

Bundaberg Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Senior Sergeant Joe Hildred said the alleged bashing happened on August 30, after the victim attended a friend's unit on Johnston St, Bundaberg.

Det Snr Sgt Hildred said an occupant of a nearby unit allegedly confronted the victim and punched him in the facial area between eight and 11 times.

"(The Victim) has a broken jaw and has difficulty speaking," he said.

The man was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital where he was operated on.

A 36-year-old Millbank man has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm but was released on bail until he is to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court next month.
