Man allegedly kidnapped woman on Valentine's Day

A 26-YEAR-OLD woman was allegedly forced to drive at gunpoint to a Gold Coast address by a man who has since been charged with kidnapping, wilful damage and drug offences.

Police say the offences happened on Valentine's Day when the woman became involved in a fight with a 38-year-old man, who was known to her.

The man has produced a firearm, forced the woman into a vehicle and forced her to drive to a Paradise Point address, before he released her unharmed, they allege.

On Monday, the matter was reported to Detectives at Runaway Bay.

As a result of investigations detectives intercepted the man's vehicle outside the Runaway Bay Police station and arrested him without incident.

It will further be alleged a search was carried out at on a Paradise Point residence where a loaded firearm, ammunition and ice were seized.

A 38-year-old Hollywell man has been charged with kidnapping, wilful damage and drug offences.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
