Man charged for going wrong way on Gateway
Drivers were forced to swerve out of the way of a car driving on the wrong side of the Bruce Highway and Gateway Motorway without lights, police say.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested following the incident, which reportedly began when the man was seen driving south in the northbound lanes of the Bruce Highway at North Lakes about 1am.
Police claim he then made it to the Gateway, forcing other motorists to take evasive action.
The man was pulled over at a work site at Deagon, but then allegedly sped off after producing a knife and threatening officers.
