Man beaten and robbed trying to walk away from altercation

A 24-year-old man and a 20-year-old man have been charged following the robbery of a 29-year-old Ashmore man last night in Southport.

At around 6.50pm, a man was approached by two men and a woman on Lawson Street, who then allegedly threatened him with an empty bottle while demanding property.

When the man attempted to walk away, it will be further alleged that the two men assaulted him and stole personal property, including his mobile phone before leaving on-foot.

A 20-year-old Upper Coomera man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday May 26.

A 17-year -old Parkwood woman has been issued with a Notice To Appear for receiving stolen goods.
