Man caught allegedly attempting to sexually assault woman

AN 18-year-old man has attacked and attempted to sexually assault a woman at Spring Hill.

Police say around 3:30pm the man approached the 27-year-old woman and asked her for money while making sexual comments. 

She refused his demands and walked to a nearby hotel where he allegedly attacked and attempted to sexually assault her.

The woman fought the man off while an onlooker called the police.

He was arrested in Wickham Park a short time later and has been charged with one count of rape, a count of assault with the intent to commit rape and deprivation of liberty.

The woman was treated for non-serious head injuries. 

The man is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
