Man charged after allegedly driving at speed camera cop

POLICE have charged a man after he allegedly drove at a police vehicle at Kallangur on Sunday afternoon.

Around 4.25pm police were operating a speed camera in an unmarked vehicle parked off the side of Marsden Road.

It will be alleged a car drove past the police vehicle, conducted a U-turn and drove back on the opposite side of the road before driving across the road in a direct line towards the front of the police vehicle.

Upon leaving the road the car lost control and came to a stop a short distance away from the police vehicle.

A 23-year-old Kallangur man has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, offence of driving etc while relevant drug is present in blood or saliva holder of provisional driver licence, possessing dangerous drugs and possess utensils or pipes etc that had been used.

He is expected to appear at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on Monday.
