Man who allegedly stormed home with machete refused bail

A REDBANK man who allegedly stormed a house armed with a machete has been refused bail.

Robert Wayde Saunter, 32, appeared on Thursday in Ipswich Magistrates Court after being arrested on Wednesday evening.

He has been charged with armed robbery with violence and enter premises with intent.

The charges stem from an alleged incident which occurred on September 14, 2015 at a property in Greenway St at Churchill.

Mr Saunter was also charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, not being entitled to possess a restricted drug and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Those drugs allegedly included cannabis, oxycontin, amphetamine and olanzapine.

Mr Saunter's legal representative made an application for bail on Thursday but the court wanted further information before making a decision.

Magistrate Donna MacCallum adjourned the matter until March 9.
