AN Oakenden man will remain behind bars for now after he was allegedly busted with about $120,000 of the drug ice.
Cameron Christopher Dowd, 28, was caught with about a kilogram of methamphetamine (ice), $13,900 cash and a small amount of cannabis during a raid on Tuesday morning at Siderial Court, police allege.
Dowd appeared before Magistrate Nerida Wilson in Mackay Magistrates Court on Wednesday from the dock, after spending a night in the Mackay Watch-house.
He has been charged with trafficking drugs, supplying drugs, receiving tainted property, possessing property obtained from trafficking and supply and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
Several of Dowd's supporters were present in the court's public gallery.
One man stopped in his tracks and exclaimed "oh shit eh" when he walked into the courtroom and spotted a row of police officers watching court proceedings.
Dowd, represented by solicitor Geoff Govey, of Taylors Solicitors, did not enter pleas to the charges during the brief mention.
A bail application was not forthcoming.
The case was adjourned to tomorrow and Dowd will remain in custody.
