Man confirmed dead in Bundaberg-Gin Gin Rd crash

UPDATE 8.15PM TUESDAY: A 28-year-old man has died at the scene of a traffic crash near Gin Gin.

At approximately 4.10pm a 19-year-old male driving towards Gin Gin and a 28-year-old male driving in the opposite direction collided about 10km east of Gin Gin on the Bundaberg-Gin Gin Road.

The 19-year-old was airlifted to Bundaberg Hospital with serious injuries.

Both drivers were the only occupants in the vehicles.

EARLIER: POLICE have confirmed a man has died following a two-car crash on the Bundaberg-Gin Gin Rd on Tuesday afternoon.

A spokesman said it was believed to be a head-on collision that happened shortly before 4.30pm.

Police have advised the road is closed and motorists have been asked to avoid the area if possible.

The condition of the second male driver is still unknown.

The RACQ CareFlight Helicopter is on scene.

The death is the seventh on our region's roads this year.
