Man dies after two-vehicle crash on Bruce Hwy at Kuttabul

A MAN has died after being involved in a two-vehicle crash at Kuttabul this morning.

The 67-year-old man from Tweed Heads died in hospital this afternoon after the crash occurred about 9.25am this morning on the Bruce Hwy.

It is not known what happened at this stage but it is believed the man and two other people were taken to Mackay Base Hospital via ambulance and were all in a stable condition.

Police have confirmed that at about 2.45pm, the man died.

A 67-year-old woman, believed to be the man's wife, remains in a serious but stable condition while a 50-year-old man is in a stable condition.

Queensland Fire and Rescue Service crews were also called to the crash scene and helped to free two people, who were trapped in one of the vehicles.

The Mackay Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
