Man dragged to safety as smoke billows from burning house

FIREFIGHTERS have dragged a man from a burning building after the blaze broke out in a Sunshine Coast home.

The fire started in the Golden Beach house on Landsborough Parade yesterday about 7.45pm.

Fire crews rushed to the scene, and reported smoke was billowing from the home when they arrived.

Leaping into action, firefighters entered the house and found the male resident inside as smoke filled the building.

The man was pulled from the house and handed over to paramedics for assessment, but he declined transport to hospital.

Firefighters extinguished the fire by 8.10pm.
