Man extradited, charged over murder

A GOLD Coast man has been extradited to New South Wales from Queensland and charged with the murder of Sydney pharmacist Rachelle Yeo.

On Monday night, police forced themselves into a northern beaches unit after neighbours reported hearing screams.
Ms Yeo, 31, was found with critical injuries and died at the scene.

Detectives searching for a person of interest, Paul Darren Mulvihill, found his car parked at the Newcastle Airport on Tuesday morning.

Queensland police arrested the 44-year-old at Brisbane Airport later that day.

Last night Mr Mulvihill was escorted back to NSW and taken to the Sydney Police Centre where he was charged with murder.

He appeared in the Central Local Court this morning (19/07) and was refused bail.
