Man flees after replica gun drama at Karalee

POLICE were searching yesterday for a man who fled a service station at Karalee with a replica hand gun.

The man was fuelling up his motorbike at the Caltex Service Station on Junction Rd just before 9am when he was frightened by nearby police.

It is suspected the man was about to enter the service station with the replica hand gun.

He fled the scene on foot and dropped the gun.

Police have recovered the replica in bushland.

The man did not go into the service station and threaten anyone.

A cordon was established near the Warrego Hwy where police conducted a search of the area which failed to find the man.

The CIB is continuing its investigations.
