Man has finger cut off during Gold Coast torture attack
A GOLD Coast man has been charged with a string of offences including torture after allegedly cutting of another man's finger.
A 26-year-old man reported to the Gold Coast University Hospital on Saturday night with a missing finger and other non-life-threatening injuries.
Police allege a 29-year-old Burleigh Heads man abducted the victim from a Palm Beach address before assaulting and torturing the 26-year-old from Kingscliff in northern New South Wales.
Gold Coast Southern Crime Group Detective Inspector Marc Hogan said the man had other "assault-related injuries" but the missing finger was the most serious.
Detectives arrested the Gold Coast man on Wednesday night and charged him with acts to cause grievous bodily harm, torture, deprivation of liberty, threats and stealing.
