Man jumps car through garden from fast-food drive-through

A 61-year-old man and his 61-year-old female passenger sustained critical injuries when their car crashed in the drive through of a fast food outlet at Morayfield yesterday.

Preliminary information indicates around 6.40pm the male driver exited his vehicle briefly and upon entering the car has hit the accelerator.

The vehicle crashed into the rear of the car in front before jumping a garden bed, travelling through the carpark, hitting a large sign from an adjoining real estate business, and then hitting a sign from a second business before coming to a stop.

The man and woman, both from the Glass House Mountains, were transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in critical condition.

The occupants of the second vehicle, from Morayfield - a 34-year-old man, 27-year-old woman and two boys ages three and six - were not injured.

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.

Anyone with information which could assist with this matter should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day.
