Man missing at Dawson River

STATE Emergency Services have launched a major search of the Dawson River after a man went missing while attempting to cross last night.

Last night police and emergency services conducted a search for the man who went missing while attempting to cross the river.

It is believed two men attempted to swim across the river but got into difficulty just after 6.30pm.

A nearby fisherman helped one man cross the river safely however the whereabouts of the second man is still unknown.
