12.30PM: Search crews looking for a man missing in waters in the Whitsundays located the body of a 42-year-old Cannon Valley man near Teague Island earlier this morning.

The man's body was located by helicopter and recovered by a Volunteer Marine Rescue vessel.

Water Police investigations are continuing with preliminary information indicating that a boat with three men on-board struck rocks near Nunga Island around 2am this morning, causing the vessel to sink.

Two men, a 26-year-old from Cannonvale and a 27-year-old from Capella, were rescued from the water around 6.30am and transported to Hamilton Island.

The pair alerted authorities and a marine and air search commenced.

The men were air transported to Mackay Hospital for treatment to non life threatening injuries.

UPDATE: RACQ-CQ Rescue have found a fisherman dead after his boat ran aground at Teague Island very early this morning.

The rescue helicopter crew spotted the man in the water one nautical mile from where the 29 foot cruiser with three people aboard hit rocks on the southern end of the island in the Whitsundays about 2am.

CQ Rescue was this morning tasked to a search and rescue mission as one person from the vessel was still missing.

Two people had already been retrieved from the water by boats in the area and taken to nearby Hamilton Island about 6.30am.

The rescue helicopter departed base about 8am and the crew, including a paramedic, doctor and rescue crewman, spotted the man's high-vis jacket in the water after a 30-minute search of the vicinity.

The rescue helicopter then hovered overhead and radioed to the nearby VMR vessel the missing man's location.

EARLIER: Whitsunday Water Police are looking for a man missing since about 2am when his boat capsized after it struck rocks.

Two other men were on board when the boat capsized near Haslewood Is in the Solway passage, but were rescued at 6.30am.

It is not clear if the men were rescued by a dive boat or fisherman but they are now on a dive boat and en route to Hamilton Is, with minor injuries.

The fishing boat is helping search for the third man.

Water Police are travelling to the search area, and police are on their way to Hamilton Island to interview the injured men.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or 24hrs a day.
