Man stuck in nightclub's vent after being refused entry

A MAN has become stuck in a roof vent after trying to sneak into a nightclub at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast.

The 18-year-old Irishmen tried to enter the club after being refused access by club security.

Police were called to the Orchid Avenue nightclub at 1.30am, finding the man wedged in the roof.

His effort damaged a glass door and some plaster board in the roof.

Once freed, he was arrested then charged with a variety of offences including wilful damage, trespass and entering a premises after being refused entry.

He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
