SNAKE BITE: Man monitored in hospital overnight

UPDATE: A man reportedly bitten by a snake on Sunday night was monitored in hospital overnight. 

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the man, in his 50s, was sent home on Monday morning after spending the night in Hervey Bay Hospital. 

The man was taken to hospital in a stable condition after he was bitten on the leg. 

The type of snake is unknown. 

EARLIER: A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital after reportedly being bitten by a snake.

The man was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition after reports he had been bitten by a snake on his leg.

Queensland Ambulance Service have confirmed the man was reportedly bitten by the snake on Curley Terrace in River Heads at 8pm on Sunday.

The type of snake cannot be confirmed.
