Man wins hilarious Tiger baby name bet
THIS baby name is a real winner.
A Texas man bet his wife that if Tiger Woods won the Masters, they would name their son after the golf champ.
And what would you know?
"On hole 18, we realised, 'Wow, he's really going to pull this thing off," Trey Little, 25, said of Woods' victory at Augusta National.
The Dallas couple was so excited about Woods' big win, it wasn't until an hour or so later that they realised they would be having a "baby Tiger," Little, a lifelong golf fanatic, says.
"This whole thing started almost as a joke, then it turned into something really real, really quick," he said.
Little has been gunning for the name Tiger ever since his wife, Denise, 39, found out she'd be having a boy, due this September.
"We both wanted a unique name, and I've always been a huge golf fan," he said.
Little, who works with his wife Denise at a hair-restoration practice, was bored one day at work earlier this month and half-jokingly drafted up a contract.
He presented it to her in the break room: "If Tiger Woods wins the Masters this week, I (father) get to have the option of naming our son Tiger Little," the document read.
"Would be the best comeback in the history of golf and arguably the history of modern sports," Little wrote in the contract.
"She laughed - and then she signed," he said.
The nailbiter of a tournament came down to the last hole, which Woods won by one shot.
"We went crazy, we were so happy," Little said. "We were so emotional just watching him win - we would have had the same reaction even if our son's name wasn't involved!"
Asked if he's at all concerned about Woods' dark history of extramarital affairs and 2017 arrest on drug and alcohol charges, Little said Woods' recent comeback, on and off the field, has redeemed him.
"Anyone who has really followed him would know that he's come a long way personally," he said.
"He just appreciates where he is in life now."
And, if the kid doesn't live up to his namesake, the couple picked Julian for a middle name.
