Man yells from dark, allegedly threatens victim with knife

A 29-year-old has allegedly threatened a man with a knife in a bizarre confrontation in Hervey Bay. 

The victim heard a man yell 'oi' from the dark before he was approached by a 29-year-old who was allegedly wielding a knife.

Hervey Bay Police Sergeant Darryn Morris said the victim yelled 'what' and soon after, the man holding the knife told him to leave because s**t is going to get f***ed up.

Sgt Morris said the victim and three others ran to their car before calling police.

The dog squad led police to a home in Point Vernon where a man was charged and taken into police custody.

The incident happened at Gatakers Bay at 10.20pm on Monday.
