Police hunt man in connection with shooting and other crimes
EXCLUSIVE: Police have identified a person of interest in the shooting of Hervey Bay's Rob Fletcher and several of the region's most high-profile, unsolved crimes.
The Chronicle can reveal Jason Bowley, 23, is now wanted for questioning over knife-point robbery of a 46-year-old sex worker at the same Esplanade motel where he and his co-accused Dudley Waterton, are alleged to have robbed a 64-year-old sex worker just weeks later.
Charges have yet to be laid over the robbery of the 46-year-old woman who was allegedly threatened with a knife and punched in the face and head before being robbed of $800 in cash and a computer on November 2.
Police believe Bowley, who was released on court bail on November 26, was then linked to a violent home invasion at Scarness, during which a man was tied up and a gun allegedly held to his head, on December 7.
The victim told police offenders broke into his home, demanding drugs and money.
Investigations into the shooting of Rob Fletcher, who was taken to hospital with a bullet in his stomach the night after the home invasion, have also caused police to seek Bowley for further questioning.
A further warrant was issued for Bowley's arrest in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Thursday after he failed to appear on unrelated charges.
Police believe Bowley, who is heavily tattooed and about 170cm tall, may have shaved his head.
Anyone who sees him is warned not to approach him but call 000.
