Toowoomba man on attempted rape, sex assault charges

THE case against a Toowoomba man charged with a range of sex offences has again been adjourned in the city's Magistrates Court.

The 36-year-old man, who cannot be named unless committed for trial on the charges, was not in court yesterday when his solicitor Nathan Bouchier asked for an adjournment.

Mr Bouchier told the court he was seeking further material from the police prosecution who would need time to accede to the request.

The accused man has not been required to enter any pleas to 10 charges which include seven counts of sexual assault and one each of assault with intent to commit rape, attempted rape and deprivation of liberty.

He remains on bail with strict conditions including having no contact with two women named to the court.

No details of the allegations have yet been aired in court.

Magistrate Bruce Schemioneck adjourned the case for committal mention back in the same court on February 17.
