Marco Pierre White swaps the kitchen for the countryside

MICHELIN star chef and world-renowned restaurateur, Marco Pierre White recently took a well-deserved break from his hectic Australian schedule to rejuvenate in the surrounding countryside at Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa.

White, who is residing in Australia while he mentors and judges chefs on the successful television program MasterChef Australia: The Professionals, traded in the frenzied kitchen atmosphere for a relaxing break in the tranquil bush land of the conservation-based resort.

During his time at the resort, Amanda Keller from The Living Room and a TV crew visited to feature his stay in a segment of the lifestyle television show.

Happy to hang up his apron, White took time out to indulge in local cuisine and beverages and fell in love with the resort.

"Wolgan Valley is the jewel in New South Wales' crown," said White.

Nestled in the heart of the Blue Mountains, just three hours from Sydney  - a region which has established itself as a 'foodie' hotspot - the resort delivers a uniquely Australian, yet world-class cuisine experience enhanced by a seasonal, regional and organic food philosophy.

Refined but unpretentious, the food prepared by Executive Chef Anston Fivaz celebrates the unique range of regional produce, with each meal featuring simple flavour combinations and high quality ingredients handled with great technique.

Joost Heymeijer, General Manager, Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa said his team gave Marco a warm welcome at the resort.

"We appreciate the time that Marco Pierre White - a world-class chef and global traveller of such renown - spent with our chefs to discuss the resort's food philosophy.

"As a connoisseur of premium experiences, his positive feedback is a testament to Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa's promise to guests to truly get away from it all and recharge and rejuvenate.

"Guests looking for their own slice of relaxation are encouraged to visit the resort from 1-3 March for our Symphony Under the Stars event, when the Sydney Symphony Orchestra are in residence to provide an entertaining weekend of chamber music performances," Mr Heymeijer said.

The Symphony Under the Stars event package is priced from $725 per person, per night and includes two nights accommodation in a luxury Heritage Suite.

This includes a private indoor-outdoor swimming pool, gourmet breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, all non-alcoholic beverages and selected local wines and beer with meals, wireless internet, two nature-based experiences per person per day and four performances by the Sydney Symphony over the weekend as per the program.
