LESS than two weeks after being kicked out of Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence in Brisbane, 20-year-old Mitchell Marsh has been named in a 30-man Australian squad to contest this year's Twenty20 World Cup in Sri Lanka.
Marsh had arrived at training in an unfit state and was already on a final warning.
He was subsequently re-signed by the Perth Scorchers for this summer's Big Bash League Twenty20 competition.
While Marsh is the youngest player in the squad, Scorchers teammate Brad Hogg is the oldest at 41.
Selector John Inverarity described the squad as "full of talent, enterprise and all-round strength".
The tournament will start on September 18, with Australia in Group B alongside Ireland and the West Indies.
