Maryborough woman accused of stealing $93,000 for cruise

A MARYBOROUGH woman who allegedly ripped off a company to a tune of $93,000, then spent the cash on a cruise, has faced court in Brisbane today.

The 52-year-old used a scam email to access the company, which in turn allowed her access to their accounts.

Police believe the woman then used the cash to fund a trip to Florida in the US, and a ticket on a luxury cruise from Miami to Sydney.

She was to leave on the second leg of the trip -- from Sydney to Rangoon in Burma on Wednesday.

New South Wales Police picked up the woman on behalf of Queensland Police as the cruise ship docked in Sydney on Tuesday.

She will face charges of fraud and hacking.

Queensland Police are still investigating.
