MasterChef's fancy lamington trips up Theresa
FORMER Home and Away actress Theresa Visintin has made her second exit from the MasterChef kitchen.
The mum-of-three fought her way back on to the reality cooking show several weeks ago.
But Peter Gilmore's latest creation, a cherry jam lamington, tripped up Theresa in her cook-off against Mimi Baines and Trent Harvey (both in their first pressure test).
Gilmore is a familiar face to MasterChef viewers. He served up two previous finale challenges: the famous snow egg (season two) and chocolate ethereal (season six).
His cherry jam lamington recipe featured 32 steps, with an extra 17 steps just to plate it.

All three amateur cooks had faults in their recreations of the decadent dessert, but it was Theresa's overly sweet sponge and ice cream which sent her home.
She plans to hold cooking classes and demonstrations and has already completed work experience at Koi with MasterChef alumni Reynold Poernomo.
Just eight amateur cooks (four of whom are Queenslanders) remain on the show, which is entering its final weeks.
Tomorrow night Elise Franciskovic, Harry Foster and Brett Carter will compete for a shot at an immunity pin.
