Matt Campbell wins again in Porsche Carrera Cup

WARWICK driver Matt Campbell has come from third to first to win the first race of the Porsche Carrera Cup series round at Surfers Paradise.

He started third on the grid but moved into second off the start line and then took the lead for a win by 2.6 seconds from David Russell with series leader Nick Foster third.

Campbell won the final race a fortnight ago at Bathurst and the round win.

Campbell told Porsche Carrera Cup organisers after the race that he knew he had good pace but didn't get the result he wanted in qualifying so started third on the grid.

The 20-year-old from Warwick will contest the final two races of the series today, one at 8.45am over 16 laps and the final one at 11.10am over 21 laps.

With two races to go, Campbell can't win the series and remains in fifth place on 740 points, 120 behind leader Foster.
