LINE-UP your mattresses, Bundaberg, and get ready to topple a Guinness world record.

Citizens Who Care owner Rob Bauer will hold the mattress dominoes attempt on Sunday, October 23, to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

"I am just at that age where prostate cancer becomes a concern for men," Mr Bauer said.

Mr Bauer said he was calling for 800 people or more to hold up the mattresses.

They have been donated by AH Beard Mattress Manufacturing.

People can bring along an extra single foam mattress to add to the attempt, held from 6am at the Bundaberg Touch Fields on University Dr.

To donate to the cause, mattresses can be bought for $99 each.

They have been signed by sporting stars such as Dawn Fraser.

Fundraising will continue for a year towards a target of $200,000.

A sports auction will also be held on Saturday, October 22, at the Old Bundy Tavern with guest speaker Dawn Fraser.

Tickets are $40 and the auction will include football jumpers, cricket bats, fishing gear, golf clubs and more.
