AT A time when youth employment is at an all-time low, fast-food giant McDonald's has announced it will make 3000 new positions available to Aussie teens.
About 1000 of those jobs will be advertised in Queensland while the remainder will be spread out across the country.
Youths who have work experience at McDonald's often fair better in the job market.
Fraser Coast IT director Jonathon Dolman said the rigorous training methods used by major chains and supermarkets were highly regarded.
"The corporate training, customer service skills, (health and safety) awareness etc puts them ahead of their counterparts working in small business," Mr Dolman said
"I would expect an organisation as large as Maccas to 'hopefully' turn out similar skill sets."
McDonalds Australia spends about $40m a year in youth training and currently employs more than 90,000 people.
