Anna Meares name on new Blackwater street
GOLD medal cyclist Anna Meares has had a street named in her honour in her hometown of Blackwater.
Meares St is where 29 allotments will be developed as part of a new subdivision by Pantex in the heart of the township.
Sales and marketing manager Malcolm Angus said fully-completed homes, the majority of which would be four bedroom, would fall in the $450,000-550,000 range.
"We are aiming to deliver our homes at the most cost efficient pricing we can as to ensure we are providing affordable, high quality homes in Blackwater's most convenient location," Mr Angus said.
The estate has underground power, designed for NBN fibre.
Mr Angus said its family appeal was enhanced by its proximity to shops, schools, playgrounds and sporting facilities.
Construction of houses in Stage 1 will be undertaken exclusively by Panorama Homes, an affiliate of Pantex Pty Ltd.
Plans have been prepared for a range of four-bedroom homes with two bathrooms and lock-up garages which are well suited for families or investors.
The estate plan specifically excludes transportable homes or substandard construction in the subdivision, ensuring resale value will be upheld.
"At the moment we're working through the tail end of civil works and we expect to see the land completed and ready to be on the market in November-December period," Mr Angus said.
"Ideally we want to deliver new homes at the rate of one a week."
