FOR Megan Roe meeting Justin Bieber was almost a trade-off for the past year of intensive medical treatment.
The 13-year-old from Bongaree met her teen idol in Sydney on Wednesday when Make-A-Wish Australia granted her wish.
"Megan is totally in love with him. She's what I'd call a huge fan," Megan's mum, Inge, said.
"When we found out that Megan was eligible for a wish, we went through the options of what she would most like to wish for.
"She decided that the best wish imaginable was for her to meet Justin Bieber, which, thanks to Make-A-Wish, came true."
Megan suffers from cystic fibrosis, a condition that mainly affects the lungs, but also the pancreas, liver and intestine.
"As cystic fibrosis is a condition which happens on the inside, a lot of people have no idea what Megan is going through," Inge said.
"The chance to meet Justin is almost a trade-off for all of the hard times that Megan's been through over the past year.
"It's a buzz for the whole family and a chance for us to spend some much-needed time together away from the hospital."
Megan met Justin with two other Make-A-Wish Australia beneficiaries - Jet Thomas, 16, from Miami, Queensland, who has Rett syndrome, and Ellie Rowlands, 11, from Mudgee NSW, who suffers from spina bifida and is confined to a wheelchair.
Megan, Jet and Ellie attended the Sunrise Justin Bieber concert where they had a prime VIP view of the show.
They were treated to a private meet-and-greet at Justin's hotel after the concert.
Bieber took time out to meet the three Make-A-Wish wish recipients and spent one-on-one time with each of the girls and their families.
