UPDATE: The 13-year-old boy missing from Highworth has been found safe and well. 

Police have thanked the public for their assistance. 

EARLIER: Police are appealing for any information to help find a young teenage boy missing from the Sunshine Coast.

The 13-year-old boy, pictured, was last seen on September 14 about 9.30am on Mapleton Rd at Highworth, just west of Nambour.

Police hold concerns for the boy's welfare due to his age.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 165cm tall with a proportionate build and brown hair.

Anyone who may have seen him is urged to contact police.
