Mitchell Callaway says he won't walk out on X-Factor dream after copping a dressing down.

NAMBUCCA X-Factor contestant, tattooed country singer, Mitchell Callaway has told his fans he won't quit the show, despite a dressing down by judges over attitude issues.

Accused of being rude to crew members on the show, Callaway copped a spray from three of the four judges but amid speculation he may walk out on the show has twitted that he'll be there for tonight's elimination.

Mentor Natalie Bassingthwaighte has been quick to jump to his defence.

That came after Callaway received a mixed verdict for his performance last night.

He was also taken to task for a 'lack of focus' and rudeness to production staff.

Guy Sebastian questioned his "work ethic" and for "at times being rude to crew."

"You really have to reign that in because you won't last long in the competition or this industry if you do that," Sebastian said.

Mel B and Ronan Keating joined the chorus.

Keating said he had not learned his lyrics two days before the performance show.

Online rumors suggested Callaway may walk away from the show, but he later tweeted:

"Hey guys thanx for all ur support. Dnt worry I'm not gunna quit.

"No way would I let my fans my family or Natalie dwn. Love u all."
