Moranbah mum hopes to turn The Voice red chairs
MORANBAH singer and Mackay pub favourite Brooke Schubert is hoping to turn the big red chairs on this season of The Voice.
The singer shared the news on Facebook and Instagram, saying "Wait... what? It's been a crazy six months and you can't say no when opportunity knocks! Tune in to Ch 9 from 7.30pm Monday to catch my blind audition sometime soon! So grateful and proud to be apart of this show at this time in my life."
It's not the first time the talented mum has dipped her toes in the reality TV world; in 2008 she made it to the Top 16 of Australian Idol.
She's also shared the stage with another Voice alumni, joining former coach Keith Urban on his Light the Fuse tour.
Brooke has also made recording trips over to Nashville in recent years.
"I was 10 years old when I first took the stage during a talent quest. It was at the Gympie Muster," Brooke says in her official artist profile.
"I won and had to sing in front of 25,000 people on main stage. That early and in that moment, I knew what I was put on this earth to do."
In February 2013, she was named in the top five unsigned vocalists from around the world by Billy Mann (P!nk's producer and Chaka Khan) and her EP went number 1 on Asia's biggest digital distribution chart.
This season of The Voice will feature judges Boy George, Seal, Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child fame and Delta Goodrem.
Catch Brooke playing at the AM Bar this Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm. And tune in to The Voice from 7.30pm tonight and through the week to watch Brooke's audition.
