Morcombe family celebrates arrival of baby boy
IN WONDERFUL news for the Morcombe family, Daniel's twin brother, Bradley, and wife Anna have welcomed a baby boy into the world.
Both mum and baby and doing well, but the name of the new bundle has not been revealed yet.
Denise Morcombe told Australian Woman's Weekly the family was thrilled to have something to celebrate 12 years after Daniel was abducted and murdered.
"Since Daniel's disappearance, we had to focus on the positives in our lives just to get by," she told the Weekly.
"And now we have something as wonderful as a new baby to look forward to in our family."
Anna had been sharing photographs of her growing bump on Facebook, with friends joining in for a baby shower in blue in May.
Bradley and Anna, who knew each other in high school, were married in August 2014.
At the trial of Daniel's murderer, Brett Peter Cowan, Bradley's victim impact statement detailed his anguish at the loss of his twin.
"Daniel cannot join me for a beer, or be the best man at my wedding," he wrote.
Anna was at Bradley side for Daniel's funeral in December 2012.
The couple had planned to have children soon after their wedding, with Brad revealing to the Weekly in April it was "something we have dreamed about for a long time".
He also said he never stopped thinking about his brother.
"But for me, there is not a single day that I don't think about Daniel. I know that Daniel is still with me, in my heart and in my thoughts. And he always will be."
