A MOTHER of three has been jailed for repeated sex acts with a 15-year-old work colleague.

Maroochydore District Court yesterday heard the boy had suffered extensive effects from the relationship with the 33-year-old woman which started at a Sunshine Coast business last year.

The woman, who the Daily has chosen not to name to protect the victim's identity, kissed the boy during their earlier encounters but the conduct escalated to her twice performing oral sex on him and ultimately having him digitally penetrate her vagina.

The final incident occurred when the woman went over to the boy's house while he was having a sick day from school.

She had parked her car in another street so as not to raise neighbours' suspicions.

The offences occurred between April and August last year.

Crown prosecutor Greg Cummings said the boy had since moved to live with his father because of stress.

"She was almost in a position of trust ... and she exploited that," Mr Cummings said.

A victim-impact statement written by the boy's father was tendered to the court.

Mr Cummings did not read out the statement's contents but said perhaps the most serious aspect of the case was the devastating effect the incidents had had on the boy.

Defence barrister Stephen Courtney said his client's marriage had been breaking down at the time.

Her oldest son has since been sent to live with his father and her younger son and daughter were in the custody of their father.

Mr Courtney said his client had been saddened to learn the effects her actions had had on the boy.

Judge Robertson noted the woman's difficult childhood and that she herself had been sexually abused by her brother.

He said it was depressingly common that adults who had the types of issues the woman had in her background committed offences of the type she had.

The woman was sentenced to two years in jail to be suspended after six months for a period of three years.
