A BLACKWATER mother has died from injuries received in a quad bike accident.

Police have yet to release the woman’s name, but the Central Queensland News understands it to be Rebecca Robe, a long-standing resident of the town.

The vivacious blonde hairdresser, 33, was with an unidentified 30-year-old male on a Yamaha 350cc quad bike when the incident occurred at 5.15am on Wednesday.

The man was treated for lacerations and bruising at Blackwater Hospital and is assisting police with their enquiries.

A police spokesman said the unregistered vehicle was being driven off-road on parkland on the eastern side of the stormwater drain between Hobler and Hutton courts at the time.

“The female passenger has fallen off the quad bike and collided with an eight-foot high wire mesh fence,” the spokesperson said.

“She was pinned underneath the vehicle.”
