Motorbike ride hurt in crash tried to take train

A motorbike rider who suffered multiple fractures in a crash in Brisbane's inner north on Sunday night attempted to take himself to hospital by train.

The 31-year-old suffered a fractured sternum and a suspected neck fracture in a crash at an unknown location, before then trying to get to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital by public transport.

But a woman called paramedics to Bowen Hills train station about 8.40pm, telling emergency services he appeared to be in a lot of pain.

He was taken by ambulance to hospital in a stable condition, Fairfax reported.
