MP to announce political future

FEDERAL member for Flynn Chris Trevor will today officially open the Ag-Grow Field Days as speculation mounts over his political future.

Following the announcement new Prime Minister Julia Gillard had resolved the government’s damaging stand-off with the mining industry, Mr Trevor took a week off to be with his wife Colleen and family.

Mr Trevor, who was hand-picked to run for Flynn by former PM Kevin Rudd, has signalled an announcement is imminent on whether he will recontest the seat at the next election, looking increasingly like late August.

He welcomed the Mineral Resource Rent Tax and the positive flow-on it will have for Bowen Basin communities.
