Bruce Highway crash causes 10kms of gridlock

LATEST: Traffic is moving again at Murrumba Downs after a crash blocked south-bound lanes near the Dohles Rocks Rd exit this morning.
Witnesses reported a ute travelling north on the highway crossed the median strip and crashed into oncoming southbound traffic about 5.30am.
The crashes caused a gridlock spanning more than 10kms.
The Queensland Police Service's Forensic Crash Unit was investigating the cause of the crash.
Both lanes have since been reopened.

INITIAL REPORT: DRIVERS heading south on the Bruce Hwy from the Sunshine Coast this morning can expect delays.
A crash at the Pine Rivers Bridge has southbound lanes blocked near the Dohles Rocks Rd exit at Murrumba Downs.
Traffic is expected to be heavy in the area.
