New Jeep Compass revealed, arriving here next year
JEEP has revealed pictures of its new Compass compact SUV model to sit in its line-up between the small Renegade SUV and mid-sized Cherokee SUV.
The 2018 Compass model made its worldwide debut in Brazil, the country where it will be built, and will be available in Australia by late 2017.
Jeep says the new Compass is a "truly global all-new compact SUV...produced with 17 fuel-efficient powertrain options for more than 100 countries around the world. It will be the most capable compact SUV ever."
The off-road brand is promising best-in-class 4x4 capability, fuel-efficiency, premium design, a host of safety and advanced tech offerings, plus open-air freedom - suggesting it will include the removable MySky sunroof as seen in the Renegade SUV.
Little else has been revealed so it is unknown which Compass variants we'll receive locally, or how much they'll cost. Jeep's Renegade starts from $26,000 and its Cherokee from $36,000, both before on-roads.
The current Compass starts from $27,000 before on-roads.
Jeep has sold 839 in 2016 so far for a 1.3% Small SUV market share.
