INFRASTRUCTURE is being built in a new estate overlooking the Toowoomba Range, which could be the first time new land has been made available on the range in a decade.

Keira View, which was approved for subdivision by the Toowoomba Regional Council last year, will feature 19 blocks of land north of Toowoomba.

Construction on the road and water infrastructure in the area off Murphy's Creek Rd began last week, which completion scheduled for December.

The 19 lots, three of which have already sold, could be the first new land subdivided on the Toowoomba Range for more than a decade, according to PRD Nationwide's Kim Taylor.

"They're big blocks, and they're very unusual - the average size of these blocks are 4500sq m," he said.

"Professional locals are looking for a view, and it's probably the only time where you'll find new undeveloped land on the escarpment.

"I think it's a one-off - if they want to build a new home, this is an opportunity for them."

The lots are priced at more than $300,000, with three blocks sold for nearly $400,000.
